Post 2of4,Wedding Weekend,"Please",Toilet-Splashing

20 Months

1 week down...3 to go.  I'm trying to keep this brief.

So 3 weeks ago, on Friday, I had a pediatric advanced life support class and Sonia baby-sat for me.  When I got home, Sonia, Adam & us went to the OG for supper before sundown.  Then Heath & I packed until about midnight.  That made for a short night, when we had to get up at 4 AM.

On Sabbath, we flew out at 6:45 AM to Baltimore.  The plane wanted to leave 15 minutes early, so we were actually paged to the plane, for the first time ever.  That was a bit scary.  There was quite the line in security for that early on a Saturday AM in Manchester, but we made it!  I had terrible nausea in the AM and during the flight.  Tyson was pretty rough on the short flight.  He wanted to get to a peanut bag on my tray and when I told him, "No"... he had a fit and cleared my entire tray - sending my glass of gingerale all over the window.  Can you imagine if someone was sitting there with us?  That would have been horrible.  Well, we made it to church on time and met up with the whole fam there.  Then we went to a picnic lunch and got to see our old friend, Seth Ellis, his wife and his son.  That was a great treat - I don't think I've seen him since our wedding almost 11 years ago!  After eating lunch, we headed to the DC Zoo, which is free.  That was a fun time - we were there for a few hours.  Then we booked it back to Columbia and Heath went out with Ricky & the guys and Tyson & I headed to a quick lingerie party for Ana.  Poor Ty would not fall asleep in the car, which I was hoping for... and didn't end up getting to bed until 11:30 PM.  It was a long, long day.

On Sunday, the wedding wasn't until 3 PM... so we had a leisurely morning and then went to the OG for lunch, which was right across the street from our hotel.  We must have had about 12 of us, who didn't have wedding-related duties.  Tyson was terrible at the restaurant and needed to be walked around non-stop.  Thank goodness his terrible, restless behavior turned into sleeping through the whole wedding – so Heath & I got to enjoy it!  It was beautiful and it was so great to see Rick so happy!  We had a nice time at the reception, the food was phenomenal.  Ty was not bad, but he randomly hit a lady's behind that was standing in front of him.  What is up with this random hitting?  Thank goodness she took it well.  The biggest thing with Tyson that happened at the reception is he learned how to say, “please” when he wants something!!  It mostly sounds like “cheese,” but we’ll take it!  Maybe it will cut back on some of his screaming.  So after the reception, we went back to the hotel and got Ty to bed at a more reasonable 10 PM that night.

Can't you see Ricky smiling ear to ear?

The 2 Preggos

On Monday we slept in a bit and then a big group of us (Mom, Dad, Jonathan, Marcela and their girls, Devin & Leigh & fam) headed into DC for the day.  We took the metro in and went to the Air & Space Museum and the Natural History Museum.  Then we walked over to the Washington Monument and then over to The White House.  Then we took the metro back and drove to a timeshare where we were going to stay the night with the Cases/Conrads.  It was a gorgeous timeshare right on the "National Harbor."  We walked down to the water and had a late dinner down there at a Mexican restaurant kind of equivalent to a Chipotle.  Then we headed to bed.  We brought up our suitcase and Heath had Ty sit on top of it and drove him around!  Ty thought he was the king of the world, but it nearly gave me a heart attack!

Terrible coloring... but this was the suitcase-riding

On Tuesday, Devin & Leigh had to fly home... so we were down to Mom, Charlie, Lori, Kelly, Rad, Jen, and us left.  We went to Arlington National Cemetery, which I had never been to before.  We saw the changing of the guard at the "Tomb of the Unknown Soldier" and saw JFK's grave.  Of course Tyson decided to start screaming there...which is not exactly reverent.  The cemetery is really amazing.  I probably could have enjoyed it more, if it were not 95 degrees, literally.  It was so hot I could barely stand it.  We went to lunch at a Lebanese restaurant, right over the border in Alexandria, Virginia.  It was amazing food.  Heath had never had falafel before (he hates chick peas), but I encouraged him to try it and he is hooked!  Tyson slept through a lot of the lunch, but then woke up and we ended up getting him a kid's pizza at Bertucci's, which was right down the street.  Ethnic restaurants and picky eaters just don't mix very well!  Thank goodness the restaurant didn't mind us bringing in a take-out pizza!  After the restaurant, we went to a few shops in the town and then went to the National Cathedral.  That place is amazing.  You would totally think you were in Europe.  It was beautiful.  We stayed for a bit of the Evensong concert and then we had to bounce to the airport.  Well, we didn't know that we really didn't need to rush.  Once we got there, they delayed our plane 2 hours.  Instead of leaving at 9:20 PM, we left at 11:15 PM. We didn't get home until 1:30 AM and I had to work the next day!  Noni stayed over, since it was so late and she was baby-sitting.  What a trip!

Mother & daughter moment

Wednesday I worked and I was dragging a bit.  Noni & Ty didn't drag as hard and actually made it out of the house and went to the beach with Shannon & Finley!

On Thursday I spent the day unpacking from DC.  One of the times, I came up from the basement, and found Tyson waiting for me... just sitting still as can be, like a big boy in our kitchen chair.  It was so cute.  What wasn't so cute is that I have a new problem with him in our bathroom.  He has now graduated from trying to flush the toilet (playing with the handle) to opening the toilet seat and splashing in the toilet water!  I found him doing that 3 times before I finally shut the bathroom door.  If it's not climbing on the bed, then it's the toilet!  Instead of going out to dinner on Thursday night, we had a picnic at Webster Lake with the Frosts & Mom/Dad.  I even went swimming, since we were in the middle of a heat wave (high 90's) and I can't take the heat pregnant right now.  Tyson loved the water, he is really taking a liking to it now!  We went to DQ (Dairy Queen) after the swim and enjoyed a nice treat.

While I worked on unpacking, Ty surfed the net
