Nova Scotia & PEI 2014

Wes: 1 Year & 9 Months Old
Ty:  3 Years & 10 Months Old

July 31 - August 10

Our first stop into the trek to Nova Scotia...we found out that Westin had pulled as much out of the bag beside him as he could!!

Almost to the border....

This might be our new tradition!  2 years in a row!  We stopped at St. John's for the night, had a nice dinner, and used the pool.  The boys definitely appreciated the break!  We were lucky enough to leave on Thursday because Heath had a couple of extra days off because he had been traveling to China through the weekends!

After stopping at A&W in Port Hawkesbury for lunch...Ty was enjoying his "roop-a-beater" lollipop!

Friday morning we drove straight to the cabins.  It was definitely difficult to see the ruins.

The boys loved it though!  Ty called it "the burned-down house."  He did not remember Nova Scotia AT ALL.  This proves that memory does start at 3 years old!

Temporary view from the lake

We camped in our little green cabin on Friday night all by ourselves.  The boys loved that too!

Another attempt at a family picture in front of our cabin ...Westin is so adorable here...but I believe Heath's eyes were closed and Ty had a horrible face, so they were cropped out! (=

On Sabbath, we drove to our cabin at Dundee Resort about 20 minutes away ... Westin was a bit thirsty!

Our view outside our cabin... we had the cabin closest to the water and it was gorgeous!  We shared a cabin with the Frosts.  It was fun...but a bit crowded! (=

Kids playing duck-duck-goose.  Ty had "goosed" Mia!

It was tough to see everything - not like our regular Nova Scotia!  This was the only time we would all be together.  After supper...6ish...by the volleyball court.

Volleyball

Corn hole

Kids playing on a tube!

2 afternoons we went back to the "cabins" for swimming at the lake and more digging for treasures.  We found some sentimental things in the fire.  Our dinner bell.  Our drink pitcher.  Sections of a Bible that didn't burn.

I love how Sean is wearing flip-flops in the ashes!

Devin is just cracking up...waiting for him to fall!

It's not so funny now - is it Dev?!!!

Cousin fun

Ty loved Heath pulling him on this kick-board-knee-board thing!

Wes loved it too - until he fell off!!

Talk about air - I love these pictures!

Scary...

I never really noticed before...until this picture, that Westin has Heath's exact mouth!  Love it!

Drive down to the lake

Popsicle before leaving for PEI on Thursday

Here we are in the car again!!!

Just waking up...before getting on the ferry!

Ty took this picture - I was changing Westin's diaper on the ground!

We almost didn't make the ferry because of our roof rack!  All of my family got on the ferry, but they kept us on the side until all the tractor trailer trucks had loaded!  We finally got on and only 4 cars got on behind us!!!!  I would have been SO mad if we would have missed it!

On the ferry...love this picture of them!

So happy!! (=

My siblings - love them!

Not a great one...but I don't get many pictures with my boys!

Heath had first come to Nova Scotia the first summer we started dating...and my Mom, Shannon, Heath & I had gone to PEI that year.  We took a picture (wish I could find it) sitting down like this on the ferry.  This is us...15 years later!!!!!!

Our gorgeous campsite

Ty helping Daddy set up our tent

Next morning, the cousins having hot chocolate that Heath made them

In the car again...heading to Cavendish to see Anne of Green Gables!  We got lost, thanks to Dad's GPS, had lunch, and arrived at Green Gables with 1 hour before closing!  But we shelled out the $15 each!

Another recreation of a picture taken 15 years ago...we tried one with the boys...it was disastrous - not a one came out!

This is so precious - I can't even stand it!

There were apple trees right by Anne's house

A little blurry...but he has so much joy on his face!  Here he is running through the "Haunted Woods!"

Sabbath morning...love this picture of Dad

Sabbath morning brought a trip to the beach at our campground with the red mud!  Ty & Wes loved it!

Wes DID love it - but you can't tell from this picture!

Then we headed to "Singing Sands" beach.  The sand really does make noise when you walk on it!  It was going to be borderline bad weather... but we chanced it.  I love this picture of my 3 boys walking to the beach!

Ty came back for Westy...since he fell behind!  So sweet!

Getting set up...look at the clouds!  The Cases, Conrads & Walls joined us here too!

Not worried about lightning...yet.

But it did happen.

Love this picture.

After lunch, we headed to another beach and this is another adorable Wes/Daddy pic

I can never get them to look at me!!!!!

It was perfect timing...Westin was pigging out on Saturday night on SO many snack things...it was unreal.  Some of my family members were teasing him about it...and then his pants fell right down!  Even though he is a junk-food junkie...he is still a skinny-minny and his pants won't stay up! (=

WELL, THAT'S ALL FOLKS!  LOOKING FORWARD TO A NEW BEGINNING IN NOVA SCOTIA NEXT YEAR!!!!
